Layover in Phoenix

Finally, I have time to access the internet. This is something I wrote while in Phoenix during a layover for my trip to Indiana to visit my family.

Okay so I'm traveling to Indiana to visit my family in Indiana. One of my stops is in Phoenix, Arizona for a layover of about four hours. I decided that I didn't want to really wait around in the airport and so took a cab downtown. I had absolutely no clue where I was going, so I asked the cabby to drop me off somewhere downtown where this is shopping. The idiot drops me off in the middle of the financial district. Sure there's shopping, but it's the really crappy tourist trap type of shopping, nothing even worth called shopping. You can tell that the place sucks considering that the largest building in the area is a Hooter's restaurant (most of whose waitresses have fake boobs).

Bored out of my mind, i decided that with time to kill maybe I could get my hair colored. My hair is naturally brown, but I've been dying it black since I was 16. I really like it this color. No offense to brunettes, but I prefer to have black. So I asked some woman where I could find a hair salon and she tells me to go down to the corner of 1st and Washington. Along the way the firest thing I notice is that there were two classes of people, either the really well dressed or the homeless. After about an hour of sweating my ass off, considering that Phoenix was to reach 110 degrees today,k I decided to call the cab company I had used. They said that they would send a cab my way. A half hour goes by and no cab. I call the company once again and they say that the system is down and can't tell me whether or not a cab is on its way. So I said screw it and went to hail another cab from a different company (Discount Cabs). This cabby was actually friendly and talkative, which I normally like when I'm traveling around. I can say that I won't tak that VIP or AAA cab company the next time I'm in Phoenix. Sorry for my ranting and raving, but i just frustrates me to no end when you get crappy service even though you are paying so much money.

While I was waiting for this lovely cab that never shoed this old man named Jacob started hitting on me. That's another thing, why do old men think that they can walk up to anybody and just start talking to them. Granted that it's cute when really old men who are frail walk up to you, but when a man who looks like he could be the next rapist then it's creepy.

Glad to say that I made it back to the airport in one piece and am now wiating for my next flight which is to Cincinnati and then onto Indiana. Whoot for flying!!!....wel only if it's a direct flight. XD Anyways that's it for now, seeing my family for the next three weeks, might get back on to blog, might not. Hopefully there aren't any surprises this time around, otherwise I will be venting once again. XP

Introduction of the beginning

Hello to anyone who chooses the read my blog. I highly doubt anyone will read this blog, at least in the beginning. Hopefully I'll have a few people start reading soon enough. Oh yeah, I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Sandra, 23 years old, and I live in California. I'm a junior in college majoring in Japanese. This September I will be heading off to Japan to go to Waseda University as an exchange student. This is the whole reason why I started this blog. I will probably be using it as a place where I can vent my frustrations and my accomplishments, but probably mostly my frustrations. XP

I'm not doing much this summer, aside from visiting my family in Indiana and applying for a student visa. Maybe I can come up with things that I'm doing over the summer. Right now I'm just living with a friend for the summer, anxiously awaiting for my move to Japan. I can admittedly say that I'm a MySpace and Facebook whore who will probably end up becoming a blogger whore as well. XP
